Beck Institute is pleased to announce that Executive Director Dr. Allen Miller will be traveling to New Delhi, India, to deliver a special live, in-person workshop, CBT in Practice, March 7–10, 2026. This intensive training is hosted by the Indian Association for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (IACBT) in collaboration with Beck Institute and represents an important opportunity for mental health professionals and advanced psychology students to deepen their CBT skills.
Who Is This CBT Workshop Designed For?

The four-day workshop will be led by Dr. Miller and is facilitated by Dr. Nimisha Kumar, President of IACBT, and will focus on translating core CBT concepts into effective, real-world clinical practice. Designed for practitioners and students at the master’s level and above, CBT in Practice offers participants a hands-on learning experience grounded in CBT principles developed through decades of clinical research.
“This workshop is especially meaningful to me,” said Dr. Miller. “I am excited to work in person with clinicians and students and to collaborate with IACBT to support the growth of high-quality, evidence-based CBT in India.
What Will Clinicians Learn in This CBT Workshop?
Throughout the training, participants will receive instruction and opportunities for guided practice in essential CBT competencies, including how to collect client information and develop a comprehensive case conceptualization, build a strong therapeutic alliance, and use both Strength-Based and Problem-Based Cognitive Conceptualization Diagrams to guide treatment. The workshop will also cover how to create treatment plans within and across sessions, and how to evaluate CBT sessions using the Cognitive Therapy Rating Scale–Revised (CTRS-R), a crucial tool for ensuring fidelity in delivering CBT.
Why Is Hands-On CBT Training Important for Clinicians?
According to Dr. Miller, these skills are foundational for clinicians seeking to practice CBT with competence. “The content of this workshop goes to the heart of what makes CBT effective,” he explained. “Mental health professionals need more than an intellectual understanding of CBT—they need to know how to implement it skillfully, session by session, with real clients. These are learnable skills, and they can make a meaningful difference in outcomes.”
CBT in Practice will be held at the Civil Services Officers Institute (CSOI) on KG Marg in New Delhi. In keeping with Beck Institute’s nonprofit mission to expand access to high-quality CBT training worldwide, the workshop is being donated to IACBT by Beck Institute. Participant registration fees are used to support venue costs, lunch, and administrative expenses, helping make this training as accessible as possible.
Registration is now open, with special pricing available for student participants. Space is limited, and interested participants are encouraged to register early to secure their seat.
Beck Institute is grateful to IACBT for their partnership and looks forward to this meaningful opportunity to support Indian clinicians and students in strengthening their CBT practice.
