Our CBT in Practice on-demand course is now available! This engaging interactive course will give you a comprehensive understanding of not just why, but how to practice CBT in a holistic, client-centered way, as taught and practiced at Beck Institute.
By Dr. Allen Miller
In the coming weeks, we will be launching a brand-new on-demand course: CBT in Practice. I wrote this course specifically for health and mental health professionals who want to get a deeper look at what Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) really looks like in session. There is a great need for this kind of illustrative content in our field. I have trained and supervised CBT clinicians for decades, and often, trainees tell me something like this: “I’ve read about [CBT], I’ve taken courses in it, I’ve even practiced what I’ve read, but I’ve never seen anybody do this stuff.”
This course breaks down the process of delivering CBT into easily digestible lessons, paired with valuable role plays and full therapy sessions that illustrate how CBT is done. This course is appropriate for graduate school students, Beck Institute Certification students, and professionals or anyone who is interested in learning how to do CBT or has questions about the practice of CBT. This course will show trainees what CBT treatment looks like: developing treatment plans, forming strong therapeutic relationships, setting agendas, integrating other evidence-based techniques, and formulating action plans.
I sat down with my colleague and BI’s President, Dr. Judith Beck, to dig into this course and what we hope this course will teach our trainees:
