Beck Institute President
We are so excited to announce that Beck Institute will release revised and new online courses this year, beginning in April. We will offer updated versions of Essentials of CBT, CBT for Depression, CBT for Anxiety, and CBT for Personality Disorders. These courses are designed for health and mental health professionals but can be taken by anyone. They (and/or the earlier versions) may also be used to fulfill course requirements for Beck Institute CBT Certification. Soon, we’ll also release the first comprehensive online course in Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R) for serious mental health conditions, designed by our talented team at the BI Center for CT-R. And we have many more courses in various stages of development.
You can register your interest to be among the first to learn about these courses as they are released.
Why did we decide to revise our course content? We first released our online courses in 2015. There has been a tremendous amount of research since that time that demonstrates how to improve efficacy. Our newly revised courses reflect what we’ve learned, both conceptually and in practice.
We have also been influenced by the BI Center for Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R). CT-R is designed for individuals with serious mental health conditions. The CT-R team, which trains professionals and staff at all levels for organizations in a wide range of settings, joined Beck Institute in 2019. In addition to a full-length CT-R course, we have included CT-R strategies in all our other revised courses, which focus on the conceptualization and treatment of outpatient clients.
Another important revision has been our new online platform. We have developed a much better learning experience, incorporating didactic content, videos of therapy sessions, clinical roundtables, clinical tips, practice exercises, course manuals, and resources to extend your learning. In the new online learning portal, you can access your trainings, build a trainee profile, and track your course progress and Continuing Education Credits. You’ll find direct links to BI staff who are ready to help you navigate through the courses. And we decided to offer these courses in an on-demand format, so you can start them and work on them anytime you choose, on whichever device you choose.
We are eager for you to try this new learning experience. We’d love to hear your feedback when you do.
Stay tuned for more details about our on-demand courses by registering your interest today.
