Welcome to 2023 at Beck Institute.
This is my favorite time to be writing to our community. We have a strong vision for the year ahead, one full of excellent trainings, increased access for trainees, and exciting projects. I am pleased to share some of our goals with you.
But first, I want to take a moment to celebrate all that 2022 brought to the table.
2022 was a year of growth and opportunity for us. Like our constituents around the world, Beck Institute also felt the pressures of 2022. While we faced economic challenges, we also experienced great success. We served more than 2,500 people through our live virtual and on-demand trainings, more than 2,800 people our Training for Organizations program, and 1,300 people through the BI Center for Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R). We also gave back through scholarships and financial aid, awarding more than $141,500 to individuals and organizations who would otherwise be unable to afford our training.
In 2023, we hope to accomplish the following:
- We will expand our best-in-class on-demand trainings to give individuals more opportunities to train with us, at their own pace and on their own time.
- We will continue to explore new training topics to meet the needs of our community.
- We will continue to build partnerships with organizations around the world to bring CBT and CT-R to diverse populations and settings.
- We will celebrate the second annual Aaron T. Beck Day on July 18 and encourage our community to take part in this worldwide day of action.
- We will host another BI Excellence Summit to bring together leading researchers and clinicians in CBT and CT-R.
- We will continue our work at the forefront of CBT and CT-R to help move the field forward and adapt treatment for diverse populations.
I am so glad that you are part of our network. As we continue to move the needle forward for health and mental health professionals around the world through excellent training, we know that you stand with us in the effort to help people get better and stay better with CBT and CT-R.
Here’s to a brand-new year!
