Judith S. Beck, PhD, President, Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy
As we begin the new year, I find myself reflecting with gratitude on all that our Beck Institute community has accomplished together over the past twelve months. Our mission has always been to promote excellence in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R) and to make training, treatment, and resources as widely available and accessible as possible. This year, thanks to the dedication of our staff, faculty, partners, and the thousands of clinicians who trained with us, we made meaningful progress toward that goal.

Innovating Through Accelerated Group Supervision
One of our most exciting achievements last year was the launch of Accelerated Group Supervision, an innovative new model designed to support clinicians as they learn to apply CBT effectively and confidently in their practices.
Research consistently shows that ongoing guidance after initial training is essential for clinicians to translate new knowledge into high-quality clinical work. Accelerated Group Supervision meets this need by offering an intensive, time-efficient, and cost-effective option for clinicians to experience the benefits of clinical supervision. Participants learn within a small group environment, receiving direct feedback and mentorship from Beck Institute experts while being supported by a group of their peers.
This program also provides a new pathway for clinicians to complete the supervision requirement for Beck Institute CBT Certification—helping us further our nonprofit mission of making excellent CBT training more accessible to professionals around the world.
Improving our CBT Certification Pipeline
Another major milestone this year was the refinement of our CBT certification pathway. These changes were designed to make the pursuit of excellence more accessible to all clinicians, regardless of where they are in their careers.
By separating theoretical knowledge from clinical practice requirements, we opened the door for a broader range of professionals—including early-career clinicians, trainees, and learners from mental health-adjacent fields—to begin learning CBT. At the same time, we preserved the high standards that define Beck Institute CBT Certification.
These updates reflect our belief that building competence in CBT should be both aspirational and achievable, and that when more clinicians have access to high-quality, evidence-based training, we all benefit.
Increasing Access Through Scholarships, Discounts, and Financial Aid
Last year, Beck Institute awarded more than $1.5 million in scholarships, discounts, and financial aid to clinicians who otherwise would not have been able to afford comprehensive CBT training. We are profoundly grateful to the donors whose generosity made this possible and to the clinicians who pursued training with us in order to better serve their clients and communities. Expanding access to our world-class CBT training programs ultimately improves care for those who need it most.
Looking Ahead to 2026: Continuing to Meet the Needs of Clinicians Worldwide
I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, but I’m even more excited about what’s ahead. In early 2026, we will launch our first-ever youth-focused CBT certification program, designed to support clinicians who work with children and adolescents at a time when the need for specialized youth mental health care has never been greater. This new certification pathway will help ensure that young clients receive developmentally appropriate, evidence-based CBT from clinicians trained to meet their unique needs.
We look forward to continuing to expand our programming, refine our offerings, and develop new resources that meet the evolving needs of clinicians across the globe.
Thank you for being part of the Beck Institute community. We are honored to support your work, inspired by your dedication, and excited for what we will achieve together in the year ahead.
