In light of the ongoing challenges posed by COVID-19, the nonprofit will be holding their workshops, which normally take place at their Philadelphia headquarters, via Zoom.
BALA CYNWYD, PA – Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy announced today that they will be holding their CBT training workshops virtually throughout the remainder of the year. After holding workshops online since mid-March, the organization has extended the decision in order to prioritize the health and safety of its faculty, staff and trainees.
The change has enabled trainees from around the world, many of whom were unable to travel to Beck Institute for financial or logistical reasons, to access high-quality trainings in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R) directly from expert faculty. All virtual workshops at Beck Institute are conducted live, with experiential activities such as demonstration and dyadic roleplaying, videos, small group discussions, and continuous opportunity for questions and answers. In addition, virtual workshops are being offered at a reduced price, increasing accessibility and keeping with the organization’s nonprofit mission.
“We are committed to training health and mental health professionals around the world to help individuals navigate this immediate crisis and its continued impact. Beck Institute remains open for business and will continue working to bring excellence in CBT across the globe,” said Lisa Muchnick Pote, MSW, Executive Director of Beck Institute. “Feedback from recent virtual workshop participants has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are delighted that this online, interactive format gives more professionals from around the world access to excellent CBT training,” she continued.
Beck Institute will also continue to provide high-quality online courses, as well as free content such as webinars and web series. Since the start of the pandemic, the organization has compiled a COVID-19 Resource Bank, which includes blog posts, telehealth resources, videos, relevant articles and more materials appropriate for both clinicians and individuals.
