We develop new and innovative programming to meet the needs of communities around the world, and we conduct research.

CBT and Beck Institute

Since 1994, Beck Institute has been the home of Cognitive Behavior Therapy  (CBT). Dr. Aaron T. Beck, the creator of CBT, co-founded Beck Institute along with Dr. Judith S. Beck to champion and advance this valuable form of treatment. CBT is the most widely researched and evidence-based psychotherapy and has been shown in over 2,000 clinical studies to be an effective treatment for hundreds of psychiatric disorders and health conditions with psychological components.

Though CBT has grown substantially in the last 31 years, many people are still unable to access this life-changing treatment because there simply aren’t enough well-trained therapists in their locality. Beck Institute works to train clinicians around the world. We envision a world where individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, suicidal ideation, substance use disorders and other mental health challenges can access high-quality, evidence-based psychotherapies that help them get better and stay better.
