Sue Schonberg, PhD, ABPP is a licensed clinical psychologist. She is a Beck Institute Cognitive Behavior Therapy Certified Master Clinician (BICBT-CMC) and Faculty member providing supervision. She is also a Diplomate & Trainer/Consultant from the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and is Board Certified in Behavioral & Cognitive Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). Additionally, Dr. Schonberg is a supervisor of doctoral students for the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers University. She maintains staff privileges at Overlook Medical Center, Morristown Medical Center and St. Barnabas Medical Center. At Overlook Medical Center, she provides ongoing training seminars to the Department of Psychiatry.
She is the founder of Cognitive Therapy & Consultation LLC, a group practice in Summit, NJ. Her first job working as a Special Education teacher in NYC laid the foundation for her desire to integrate teaching into her career as a clinical psychologist. Later work as a psychologist in a Fortune 100 company (Dupont) afforded her the opportunity to understand first-hand the unique stressors that employees experience. Work positions in college counseling centers (Drew University, College of St. Elizabeth) provided the opportunity to work with undergraduate and graduate students who she frequently sees in her private practice. Her areas of specialty within CBT include: health anxiety, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, phobias, coping with cancer, chronic illness, post-concussion syndrome, vestibular disorders, OCD and grief.
