Dilip V. Jeste, M.D. is the Senior Associate Dean for Healthy Aging and Senior Care, Estelle and Edgar Levi Memorial Chair in Aging, Director of the Stein Institute for Research on Aging and the UC San Diego Center for Healthy Aging, and Co-Director of the UC San Diego-IBM Center on Artificial Intelligence for Healthy Living. His main areas of interest are schizophrenia and successful psychosocial aging. He is Past President of several organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. He is Principal Investigator on several research and training grants. He has published 12 books and over 600 articles in peer-reviewed journals and over 100 book chapters. He has received multiple awards and has been in the list of the “world’s most cited authors”–comprising fewer than 0.5% of all publishing researchers of the previous two decades.
