Beck Institute Excellence Summit

October 23, 2020

Now in its fourth year, the Beck Institute Excellence Summit continues to be a way for Beck Institute to give back to our network by fostering community amongst leaders in CBT.

Celebrating a tradition of excellence

The Beck Institute Excellence Summit began in 2017 as an annual invite-only event bringing worldwide leaders in the field of CBT together for a weekend of networking, learning and dialogue in a more intimate format than larger national and international conferences can offer. Over the years, the Summit has become an important part of our community, giving current and former colleagues the opportunity to catch up and hear about one another’s work in a comfortable setting. We are pleased to hear of new connections being made, and collaborations that have occurred as a result of the Summit.

This year, Beck Institute made the decision to host the Summit entirely online. Although the driving factor in our decision was the health and safety of our network of clinicians, researchers, and academics from around the world, we are excited about the possibilities that a virtual event can provide. We are expecting a greatly expanded global audience, and increased participation from those for whom travel to Philadelphia is difficult.

Our state-of-the-art digital platform will allow participants to access live presentations and materials, engage with presenters and with one another, and participate in small group discussions in breakout rooms all hosted within the platform. Our afternoon discussion panel will feature 2020 Beck Institute Excellence Awardee and former US Representative Patrick J. Kennedy, who will participate in a conversation with other leaders in government and community behavioral health about Understanding the Growing Mental Health Crisis: A Conversation about Access, Advocacy, and Parity.

2020 has been a time of unprecedented global upheaval. We hope the Summit will both ground you in community and inspire you as we all face the important work ahead.
