Robert Hindman, PhD, is a faculty member at the Beck Institute where he provides cognitive behavior therapy for clients, presents workshops and other trainings, supervises therapists, and consults on CBT research. Dr. Hindman will focus on how to conceptualize anxious clients and use the conceptualization to plan treatment. First he will present CBT theory and treatment strategies for anxiety disorders in general. Then he will focus on specific disorders: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Participants will learn how to do cognitive restructuring, set up behavioral experiments, make exposure exercises more effective, and incorporate mindfulness-based strategies into treatment. The workshop will include lecture, discussion of cases, videos, role-playing, and experiential exercises.
