Dr. Brinen is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy for individuals with schizophrenia, PTSD, and other disorders. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Brinen is a key instructor in The Beck Initiative at the Aaron T. Beck Psychopathology Research Center at the University of Pennsylvania, a program designed for community therapists to disseminate cognitive therapy for individuals struggling with schizophrenia. Under the guidance of Dr. Aaron T. Beck, Dr. Brinen has worked on a group model of CT for schizophrenia, and has been active in the training of community therapists in Georgia and Philadelphia, and in state psychiatric hospitals in New Jersey. Dr. Brinen is also a faculty member at the Beck Institute, where he trains nationally and internationally on a variety of topics, including CBT for schizophrenia and PTSD.
