Designed for non-therapists who see clients in a medical setting, this experiential workshop will focus on evidence-based methods of cognitive behavior therapy to treat clients with medical conditions. Participants will learn the cognitive model and the rationale for using CBT in medical settings. Participants will also learn effective listening skills, motivational techniques, relaxation and mindfulness skills, how to identify and restructure clients’ dysfunctional thoughts, and how to collaboratively develop action plans.

This workshop designed for medical professionals such as nurses, physicians, physician’s assistants, medical social workers or health coaches who treat clients in hospitals, clinics or primary care offices.
